Facts?
Harold had a tough time processing each day’s news. Truth was increasingly hard to find. His friends struggled through the same problem. The news media mirrored the divided nation. For truth, people loyally believed their political side, either on the right or left. Major events were impossible to get the truth. A war was being fought, Harold’s nation saying a truce was imminent while the other nation saying nope.
What was real?
The Government slashed health and non-military spending—some news sites portrayed it as a miracle, others as a disaster. Was climate change true, an exaggeration or an outright hoax?
Harold, seeking guidance, sought out Truth, which was on vacation in these difficult times, staying in an oceanside cave in Hawaii and signing autographs. As the ocean gently lapped on the shore, Truth told him “Emotions determine which facts are chosen. I cannot put words into the mouths of humans. You must decide what is true. That is the point. There has never been one Truth.”
“Sure there have.”
“And there you have it. Autograph?”
